La Flor Dominicana Chapter 1 Cigar

Saludos,
Greetings, loyal LFD liaisons. La Flor Dominicana Chapter 1 cigar has arrived and is available now. Beautiful presentation & construction. This is Litto Gomez’s son’s first cigar and blend. Antonio wanted a fuller bodied smoke and the shape looks like a Chisel vitola but this cigar is a slightly larger format.

Flor de Selva Cigars (Cigares)

Saludos,

Greetings, habituĂ© of Honduras. We at Habana Port Cigar Merchants are proud to introduce to you Flor de Selva. This cigar brand has been in existence for over 15 years with its distribution focus for the most part on Europe. Flor de Selva is the brainchild of Maya Selva who is originally from Honduras but moved to Paris. In 1992 she decided to return to her familial roots and began her education about the cigar business under the tutelage of Nestor Plasencia, Sr. She contracted the famous Plasencia to construct her cigars and the first batch was released in March 1995. Flor de Selva showcases the finest tobaccos Honduras has to offer and so the puro’s blend is very clean and elegant. The flavor profile is one of a cedary, buttery, creamy nature with an undertone of coffee. Flor de Selva is quite mild but very complex in its flavor profile. Perfect for both the beginner and expert.

You can imagine our pleasure when we saw the company making its U.S. debut at the big cigar trade show in July 2013. Knowing the reputation of the company and her blends, Habana Port was the 10th U.S. cigar retailer to open an account with Maya Selva Cigares and the first in Louisiana (in fact we may have been the first in the country to receive a shipment as our invoice number was #1). We invite you to try one of the most famous cigar brands you have not heard about. We are initially offering the Robusto (4 3/4 x 50), the Robusto Maduro (4 3/4 x 50 and the only size that utilizes a Maduro wrapper), the Tempo (6 x 60) and the Petit-Cigares (3 1/2 x 20 and one of the smallest handmade cigars on the market).

For more information regarding the woman behind Flor de Selva, check out Cigar Journal‘s small bio by clicking here.

If you cannot visit our stores, you can purchase your Flor de Selva cigars on our e-commerce site, CigarEarth.com, by clicking here.

Wild Bunch – Honest Abe Cigar

Saludos,
Greetings, wildlings. We’re at the midway point with the newly arrived Ortega’s 6th Wild Bunch cigar – Honest Abe. The wrapper is a Habano Esteli and Ortega is listing the strength at “Fumador Fuerte” (ie strong). Named after the famous South Florida cigar retailer, Honest Abe measures 6 1/2 by 52rg. We’ll tweet our thoughts on the flavor profile later.

A. Fuente King T Rosado Sungrown

Saludos,

Greetings, Fuente fans. We recently received the A. Fuente King T Rosado Sungrown to our surprise. As is usual with rare Fuente releases, the company just sent this vitola without us requesting it or informing our staff. Believe us, we’re not complaining! We’ll take as many as they can send us! It’s always a pleasant surprise when we receive rare Fuente cigars. Anyway, in honor of A. Fuente’s centennial celebration in 2013 (postponed a year late due to packaging problems and the tobacco warehouse fire), you can expect some new and maybe one-time limited runs from the famed Dominican cigar maker. (Angel’s Share, anyone?)
The A. Fuente King T Rosado Sungrown is dressed in gorgeous glossy crimson tubes as opposed to the normal production King Ts which come packaged in black and white aluminum tubes. The King T RSG has the same wrapper found in the Rosado Sungrown line whose Vitola 44 received Cigar Aficionado’s No. 5 ranking in 2012. Let us know what you think of this cigar when you light it up, but remember to hurry and get yours today.

Buenaventura Cigar Back in Stock

Saludos,
Gteetings, bad boys of BV. These beauties are back in stock. A $5-6 Nicaraguan puro? Yes, please. Buenaventura was awarded our No. 2 Cigar of the Year in our annual Top 15 List and has been a huge hit with our customers. As is usual with cigars that are really tasty and priced very low, there tends to be a back order issue. We certainly saw this with Buenaventura but fortunately the cigars are back in stock and we are well-supplied.
